What I was looking for

Bought this for my elderly mother, she really likes it, it is easy for her to operate. Reception is good when placed the right location, antenna doesn't seem to make much difference. Sound is very good even when the volume is turned up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tuner prone to frequency drift, won't stay on station.

Initially, it was nice. But that was until I realized that the tuner was prone to the frequency drift that all the old style ones are. You tune it into the station you want, and within a half hour, all you have is that static-y high pitch hum. No thanks, I'll stick to an all digital tuner. Wish it was better. Oh well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

These Tivoli radios sound great and have sensitive tuners out of the box but they don't stand the test of time...after around a year the tuning gets scratchy when you are searching for a station. It's just not worth the money in the long haul. Even the old tube sets would out last one of these by many years. You can get a better radio that will last much longer for less money from some of the competitors...may not sound as good as this one but your money will last you a long time. I don't recommend it!

The best radio I've ever owned

This is the best radio I've ever owned, hands down. Mostly because it's just a plain old radio, no internet connectivity or bluetooth or anything like that. Just a high quality tuner and a single great speaker in a solidly built wood housing. It has surprisingly good sound, I had high expectations for the price but I was still impressed when I first turned it on. I can see myself keeping this thing for decades.

the goodnice size , modern look , good soundthe badafter only a few days the fm reception would drift after only a few hours use . This drifting kept getting worse as the days went buy, I decided at this point to return the radio .no difference with internal and external antenna.

We have run this daily for years now. I use it on fm and on podcasts from my ipod. The sound is round and beefy. The look is still fantastic ,not showing my fingerprints nor dust. simple and good

8 years and still going strong

I've had this radio for almost a decade and it still sounds as good as day one. I listen to talk radio for an average of 5 hours a day. The aux input works great if I want to hook up my phone and listen to MP3s. It's a classy looking little unit that has stood the test of time. Love it.

Spend The Extra Money for Quality

I was skeptical with this purchase since the radio system seemed overpriced, but it is worth every penny. The audio is clear on all AM and FM stations and the various ports enable me to connect my android to listen to my playlists. The controls are highly sensitive and the bass is sufficient for a small speaker. The wood structure blends with the surrounding furniture.
I would recommend this to a friend!
