Nice radio, but cheaper options

This is a very nice radio. But is is very pricey compared to the Sangean which is similiar. I own both, and the Sangean cost half what this does and looks and sounds as good. Its like buying an Apple product, you pay a premium. Buy the Sangean, save money and get an equal quality radio. I like the Tivoli, but low on value.

Excellent sound. Very sensitive - sometimes it seems to be too sensitive as the weather sometimes affects the amount of noise near stations on the dial. Still an excellent - although very pricey - product.

The radio looks great, sounds fantastic. I didn’t like that I had to purchase the am loop antenna separately, not that it was expensive but for the amount we paid for the radio, it should have been included.

Size, performance, and quality are just what I wanted. I needed a smaller radio that would capture and hold the stations I like while providing decent sound. I am not a radio engineer, but I am satisfied with this purchase. The look is old style, but I prefer it over its digital counterparts. Over four months of use and I am still satisfied. Strongly recommend.

Small radio with big sound

In a large open space, kitchen and dining area, the Tivoli fills it with sound that is distinct in different parts of the area. I listen also to the Sangean radio which projects a narrower sound cone; I need to sit in a specific location for voices to be distinct. The Tivoli is on the brighter side of neutral but not disagreeably so. There is an engaging sound to music. It pulls in FM stations easily without distortion and does not require the supplied wire antenna. In contrast, the Sangean struggles to pull in some of the same stations without distortion, despite using an indoor antenna. The all white Tivoli looks at home in my kitchen and its small footprint requires little space. This is a fine small radio without major faults.
