Great tuner, lousy sound

For perspective, I consider myself an audiophile.The tuner on this is extraordinary, and that's why I kept it. Background is absolutely silent, good clean tuning from weak signals. However, anyone who thinks the sound is good has never done much listening. A JBL portable bluetooth Flip or Extreme is far better. My main use is listening to the news in the mornings and evenings, and for voice it is fine. On the rare occasion when I am listening to Mountain Stage or some other music, the sound quality is pretty pathetic.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A nice little radio sounds good, I use it for background music keeps me company bought the external antenna don't think I needed it but will keep it.

Tivoli radio lives up to their name right out of the box. The sound quality is rich. The base gives a depth to audio and music that is just pleasant to hear. And it's a table radio. I would recommend this radio and the Tivoli name . Pam B.

My husband, a former sax player and jazz education teacher, has Alzheimers, but still enjoys listening to music. It soothes him. He can't deal with complicated audio tech operations any more, but loves the Tivoli with its sturdy, clean-lined structure, simple, uncluttered 'knob" controls, and sensitive tuning. Its handsome wood-surround, square design is very attractive. And the sound, from many more audio sources than our former digital clock radio had, is great! We recommend it 100%!

Love the look of this radio, that was the whole point. Unfortunately there was a constant loud "white noise" static sound when I turned it on that made listening impossible. The sound was present no matter what I did. There are some "fixes" on line but being that it was brand new out of the box, it scared me off (returned).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love this radio! We live in an area with generally poor cell / radio reception but this radio gets pretty clear receptions on several stations. Great sound quality and loud enough for our small home. Also looks beautiful.

I found the on/off button hard to turn. It would also be nice to have an AM antenna included with the purchase of the radio. In summary I am happy with the radio, and the tone is very good.
