Needs to have a speed control.

It is plenty powerful and I suspect it keeps up with gas powered augers. My main issue is that it is single speed, all on, or all off. That would be fine in pure, soft dirt, but if there is a root or rock down there this thing throws you for a loop, literally.
Pros: Quiet, Powerful
I would recommend this to a friend!

This thing is a beast and does a great job! The slower speed reverse is also awesome for snags.
Also great that it's compatible with most other earth auger accessories.
However, unlike competitors, Greenworks doesn't have an anti-kickback mechanism, so when you hit even a small rock that's got nowhere to go, the auger handles swing fast and very hard.
Greenworks really need to develop and offer an attachment/adapter that does the job.

60v earth auger.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last month and I have only used it once to see if it worked with the 60v batteries I already had for my weed eater. It worked great and I like the LED lights even though I probably won't be using it at night.
