BEWARE: Uses 'special' 60V batteries

There's nothing on the site that says you need "special" 60 V batteries. So now I have to return it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This unit (4700502) is a corded/cordless unit. It can be used with the included cord (cord length 10F) or with Greenworks 60V battery; battery and charger sold separately. Important Note: 60V 8Ah battery not compatible*
In DC mode, you must install two batteries at the same time to start the machine. Users must use (2) fully charged Greenworks 60V battery packs. Do not use battery packs other than Greenworks 60V. Ensure both batteries are charged 100%. If each battery has a different charge state, the run-time of the machine is subject to the lowest powered battery (For example: one battery is charged 100%, and the other is charged 50%, the unit will only run until the 50% battery is depleted). When using (2) batteries with different amp hours (Ah), the machine will run until the lower (Ah) battery is depleted.
Lastly, the higher the ampere-hour(Ah) ratings are on the batteries, the longer the run time will be.

This vacuum works great! Very powerful suction. I use it to empty and clean out my bird bath fountain basin. I only wish it had a larger reservoir/bucket and variable speeds. Also, don't forget, it requires two batteries (not included). Fortunately, I ordered a spare battery for my leaf blower, anyways.

This is just as powerful as a car wash vacuum with the convenience of being at your home. Absolutely love having the option to either plug it in or use your batteries. The Greenworks products haven't disappointed me yet.

Success once again ! I am a big fan of my green works 60v tools, Did I mention that this is number 10 ! and while I was hesitant that a battery powered shop vac would not have the power. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance level of the two-battery design. It is super convenient to be able to take the shop vac out to the cars and not have to drag around an AC cord. Two thumbs way up !

This is the first shop vac I’ve ever purchased and I have to say I’m not disappointed it’s very powerful has the dry wet option tried both works really great all I can say is it’s very convenient and lightweights and super super powerful
