[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Klipsch Synergy Black Label SUB-120, is my first subwoofer. It was uncomplicated to set up, and I have noticed a definite improvement in bass sound quality. This subwoofer optimizes output, and faithfully recreates low frequencies accurately. Moreover, it delivers a strong, quality bass with clarity that is meatier, richer, and deeper especially for both music and movies. I really like the dynamic, palpable energy and thrilling, chest-thumping power that it creates. The subwoofer does a great job of effortlessly playing clean and clear, distortion free audio at high volumes. It allows you to feel movie sound effects like explosions when watching a full-throttle action flick. I recommend this sophisticated looking subwoofer, because it superbly balances size, power output, and frequency range. This helps to produce a more vibrant, all-encompassing sound that blends seamlessly with and complements my other full-range speakers. The Sub-120, is a key component to a complete audio system, and has elevated my home theater experience.
I needed to upgrade my home speaker system, due to my old receiver losing a channel. New receivers are all pretty much home theater oriented, so I upgraded my existing towers with some Klipsch bookshelf speakers, and the SUB 120 Subwoofers. Not an audiophile, but I am thoroughly enjoying my new surround effect! Music and video! The rumble I never had from just a stereo system, even a fairly good one! As for my wife, she'll get over it!
The SUB-120 is one solid subwoofer. Packs a solid bass at even low volumes, and awesome kick at high power. Have had one for couple years with the initial system purchase of Klipsch F-300 towers, and added a second sub for even more kick. Well, after all it is Christmas, and the great room is very large. Klipsch speakers have demonstrated without question their expertise in the design of a really great speaker.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Big sub with lots of power!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The good: This sub does exactly what it should, gives good clear pounding bass and has a ridiculous amount of power. The inputs/options on the back are very simple but actually give a lot of flexibility. For example, usually your receiver will have a Pre Out (or similar) connection which is 1 RCA plug to go to the sub. This has 2 RCA connections so that you can plug a cable into only 1 like usual or if your receiver doesn't have the dedicated connection then you could take a different output with Right+Left RCA connections and put them into the sub to make sure it doesn't miss low sound being sent to either side. It also has the low-pass filter so that if your receiver doesn't have a filter then you can send all audio to the sub and it will filter at whatever point you want. I like the On/Auto/Off power control, my older receiver has a power plug in it for the sub so I'll leave it On so it powers up when I turn the receiver on. However a lot of the newer receivers don't have a power plug in them for a sub so you can leave this hooked up to a wall outlet in Auto and it will effectively do the same.
The bad: Now I want bigger speakers to go with my upgraded sub haha!
This is a fantastic sub, it adds tons of power and they didn't overcomplicate the controls. Just be aware that it is really big and heavy so you need space in your room for it (I mean it is a 12" sub after all). I love the look of Klipsch speakers with the orange, but if you prefer black it does come with the mesh cover.
Sounds great, and shakes everything. Goes through floors and thin walls, so probably not good for apartments. Overall, I am in love, it also adds a much needed ummph to those lower frequencies in my setup.
When it was time to retire the old subwoofer, the Klipsch SUB-120 was purchased to fill the need. And it has done so perfectly with the sound we needed. We were able to easily blend and balance it in with our existing sound system.
