Works, but too loud
on August 19, 2022

The fit on the headphones is nice and the sound quality is fine. But the lowest volume setting is a solid "medium", meaning it's impossible to listen softly to music. (The highest volume setting would be deafening when they are worn on the ears -- it's practically turns into a portable speaker, though at that volume, the quality isn't very good.) The battery life is mediocre compared to other headphones I've had.

Solid Value

Consumer reports liked these so I gave them a try. I have limited experience with Bluetooth over the ear headphones - just some Sony 900 and 910s. These are 90-95% as good as those but 20% the cost. Comfort is pretty good for my big head but all 3 end up making my outer ear hurt. Sound is a little boxier with the monoprice, highs rolled off a bit. Bass is good. Bluetooth signal doesn?t extend as far from the device and they have very infrequent static when working/moving that I never noticed with the Sonys. Noise canceling seems about the same. I love that you don?t need to download an app to pair them with your phone. Good buy. I?d recommend them for sure

Bluetooth is wonky
on September 9, 2022

First pair of headphones I ever bought from Monoprice was the Monoprice BT-500ANC. I liked them. After sometime and wearing them during exercising the ear pieces were wearing. So I thought I'd buy a new pair to have just form listening when not exercising. So I bought these. The fit is OK. But the bluetooth does stretch very far. My kitchen is less than 50 feet from my computer and I almost lose signal. Even when I turn it on the voice sounds scratchy and in the middle of songs the bluetooth will skip out several times and I 5 feet away on my recliner. They're good. But won't buy again.

Work well on my international plane flight. It canceled the plane engine noise so I could hear my in-flight movie better.

Bad Strain Relief

I've had these for a few years and they've been pretty alright. Unfortunately, you can't connect to Bluetooth audio while the headphones are charging and one of the wires inside ended up getting strained so the headphones no longer work at all.

Function to cost ratio is high

I have used this headphone while cooking with the rangehood exhaust fan running, it cuts out the fan motor noise almost completely. Therefore, I believe it will work well in airplanes. I enjoy classical music. Although I don't own any of $300 or more stereophile headphone to compare with, I am very happy with this BT-300ANC.

I always use them on the plane. So much less expensive than the other guys, highly rated by CR, works good! Noise cancelling does actually work and charge holds through all of my flights.
