Like the sound quality, but...

I enjoy using these headphones. I like the sound quality and the way the fit, very comfortable. However, the on/off and volume buttons are very difficult to use. They are close together and flat. This makes them hard to feel them once you have them on your head.

Great headphones and noise abatement feature
on May 21, 2019

I received the headphones a week ago and have tried them in many different environments. They work great. The sound reproduction is very good and the noise abatement feature works well. I particularly like the way (and shape) that the headphones fit around my ears and not on them. For me, this is especially important on long cross-country plane rides. And then there is the price -- very reasonable. I chose these because of Consumer Reports assessment and recommendation.

Monoprice BT-300ANC Bluetooth Headphones

My BT-300ANC headphones sound fantastic. Primarily use them at a busy gym with blasting group workout music on top of the piped in Muzak in the background. These babies suck your head in with the ANC on to provide great frequency response with really nice and accurate bass that's not boomy. From Radiohead to talk radio, these are as good or better than Beats Studios, in a lightweight, compact design, at a fraction of the cost. Thanks Monoprice.

Phenomenal Value! However you need to understand what the noise cancelling actually does. Read below to understand.

These headphones will not yield a silent environment free from all noise. What they do is eliminate a large amount of droning. Turning the deafening drone it's a completely tolerable “whoosh” like an air conditioner at a distance. You can still hear important announcements, and even communicate with people with the noise cancelling enabled. When you switch it off, the once silenced drone of the plane is once again, deafening.
The other added bonus is you no longer have to crank the volume nearly as loud to drown out the drone. No more headphone amp. No more over driven headphones, no more headaches. I now can't imagine getting on a plane again without them. They really are life changing.
Now let's talk sound quality. Bottom line up front, it's great! I've had my fair share of cheap and expensive headphones. The quality is clear. Plenty enough to enjoy a movie, or an album. Are they audiophile grade? Probably not, but if that's what you were after, you probably wouldn't be looking at these headphones in the first place. Also FYI, Bose headphones aren't audiophile grade either. They're just really good at noise cancelling.
I find that my ears fit very comfortably within the cups, they also don't squeeze my head too much. I don't have small ears. As of this writing I've got at least 12 hours of wear time on them and I'm plenty comfortable. The charge lasted on a full trip from Pennsylvania to Hawaii. I don't know how much longer they would have lasted, but I didn't notice an degradation in performance over the duration of the trip.
The headphones could charge faster. They only pull about 0.15A when charging, but since they last the entire day, that's really not a big deal. Worst case scenario, invest in a battery pack. It's a must have when it comes to flying anyway.
As far as pairing and operation. So far no complaints. They paired easily enough. They remain paired, and there's no cutting out. There's no need for a special app, and the operation of the buttons are pretty intuitive and easy to get used to.
In conclusion. If you're a normal, reasonable person, that is willing to buy headphones without listening to them first. If you have a desire to improve your experience on an airplane, but don't want to spend $300+ on a pair you could lose or smash, look no further. Buy these headphones. I'm confident you'll be satisfied with your purchase.

The sound quality is good, but it is hard to tell if the noise canceling feature was working.

Comfortable and compact. The ANC feature is average, but a great value at this price point.

Great Headphones for a Great Price

I’m very happy with the overall sound quality and noise cancelling features of these headphones. The battery life is way better then expected. These headphones are a great balance of sound quality and noise cancelling for an exceptional price. Good enough that I sold my Grado’s because I have too many headphones, and these sound better in my opinion.
