Monoprice BT-300ANC Wireless Over Ear Headphones

I wanted to dampen the sound when using the chain saw or lawnmower. I was using a Bose headset which did an excellent job but I did not want to ruin it because it is expensive. I thought that the Monoprice wireless headset could be used instead. I didn’t expect the same reduction in noise that the Bose delivers, but the Monoprice headset is not as good as I had hoped.

Worth the purchase

These are by no means complete noise cancelling and that's okay. I use them for work and school when I need to concentrate and silence everything else around me and listen to some music or relax. Because they are over ear they already block some sound. Turn on the noise cancelling and some music and people have to poke me to get my attention. It was definitely worth the purchase at the price point. Plus the bass is awesome so that's a bonus.

I love using this in the manufacturing area of our company. Once I hit the ANC button I hear nothing but music, no machines! AWESOME!!! Great price too!!!

Background Noise Abated, but Other Sounds Not

I guess these headphones do what they're supposed to do, weeding out background hiss and extraneous noise. But they don't appear to do what I thought, which would be to shut out ALL noise, so you could listen, say, to music or talking coming from your iPad.
When the TV is on, I can clearly hear it, even with the noise canceling turned on. It's no quieter than otherwise (it's barely attenuated, if at all).
Am I mistaken in thinking this is supposed to quieten all sound around you? Like, if you were on an airplane with TV, video, or music being played elsewhere, you still have to listen to all this, in spite of trying to ONLY listen to the broadcast over wireless?
If that's how they're intended to work, I guess they're excellent for the price. I'm just glad I didn't pay $300 for a pair and THEN found out they won't block my wife's TV with the loud adverts across the other side of the room.

I like mine, easy to use and comfortable. Superior to the $80 set I got for Christmas. I don't think the battery life is as advertised.

I read about these in Consumer Reports and I already liked Monoprice charging cables; so I figured I’d give them a try. I like them! I have experienced what I can call a “buffeting” where it’s sorting out sounds and going “pft pft pft” that I can hear but since I attribute that to noise filter I accept it.

I love these headphones! They perform exactly as advertised, the instructions are easy to follow, the sound is great, they are comfortable enough to wear for hours and they even arrived earlier than expected with the free shipping! It's an amazing value!
