It's better than I was expecting

The watch is nice and sleek. Very pretty to look at. Being a first time user of Samsungs smart watches I'm truly blown away. Just lifting the watch and activating the display allows me instant access to the time, date, weather, uv index, percentage of precipitation, wind speed and direction, current heart rate, with a ridiculous amount of other customizable options for adding other info you might want directly to the watch face. Once google assistant is installed through the watches built in play store I was able to access it just by waking the watch by lifting my wrist and saying 'hey google'. Pretty sweet.
I can also confirm that the ECG, heart rate monitor, blood pressure monitor, GPS and all other toys this phone offers are enabled and functioning in Canada. I've been playing with this watch all night setting everything up and the battery life is only down 15% under very heavy usage. A real bonus I found was the ability to charge the watch wirelessly with samsung smart phone that has wireless power sharing built in. I tested it with my Samsung galaxy S20 FE 5G and it charged my watch wirelessly without any problems at about the same speed as the wireless usb charging pad did that came included with the watch. A real plus in my book.
The review is mostly positive because as a new adopter of smart watches I am nerding out over what this product can do and the fact I've had zero problems with it so far.
I got it on sale for $75 off with a bestbuy.ca introductory gift card promo so it was a no brainer. That being said I'd still buy it at MSRP.

The galaxy watch 5 has been everything it was advertised to be. I rarely write reviews, but after reading some reviews about this watch and almost returning it because of them, I'm going to provide my take on the product.
As someone that's 76 years old, l easily downloaded all the setup for this watch and it has operated wonderfully. I love the alarm that can be sent to family or friends if I need help. All the apps work well especially the sleep, blood pressure and ecg apps. So glad I bought this watch.

Almost perfect in every way

Fist time with a smart watch. So far very impessed. No issue at all with the battery. I through it on the charger for twenty minutes or less couple times a day( I don't like my batteries to go any lower that 50-60% on any of my devices. All the applications work flawlessly. It looks amazing right off the bat, it's a beautiful piece. I went with the 44mm basic as the pro was way to bulky in my opinion bases on its larger battery. To big for me. And I think the basic model actually looks better and more sleek. But, there are two cons to my experience. 1st, the metal casing has a very thin layer of paint, so it will scratch easily unfortunately. And 2nd, there needs to be an exercise mode for skateboarding. It's as much as a workout and more than some of the other modes.
Even if if your not interested in the heart rate and monitoring tech, this watch does it all. Answers calls, makes calls and texts, controls music, check email. Play games. Watch YouTube. Ect.. Five stars all the way. ☆☆☆☆☆

Never worked well

I was disappointed as this watch never worked properly. On the first dayI could not get the blood pressure and ecg to work. The next morning new emails appearedon my phone but not on the watch. Then the watch could not complete a software update. I will be returning this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It is a good watch, not heavy, and has a sleek design... BUT IT WILL NOT CONNECT TO YOUR iPhone. They should add this as a disclaimer. iPhones only connect to the Galaxy Watch3 and below.

I have owned every version of the Galaxy watch from the original to Watch 5 EXCEPT the watch 4 version.
The Samsung Watch 5 is smooth in software performance with a brilliant screen. Spotify is seamless. The batter with heavy use lasts one day for me.

This is my first smart watch ever, and I'm not disappointed whatsoever. It flawlessly connects and reconnects with my phone really fast. The battery life is amazing. I can go up to 2 whole days on a single charge. The wifi feature allows me to send and receive messages no matter where my phone is apart from me at home. Having the option to use Google Assistant really makes things easy. Responding to messages, using the watch for info on Google Maps, full integration with my Galaxy phone - it's a great watch for a great price. I highly recommend!

Well worth it

Cardiologist told me they collected good useful data. I've been using the ECG feature and it showed me some bad readings yesterday prompting me to call an ambulance as I was working alone and couldn't risk passing out with nobody around to call for me. I was ok by the time they showed up, but what if ? Was good to know that what I was feeling was measurable, to me, well worth the cost of the watch. The sleep information is nice as well. Very cool gadget, big fan. Sure it is hard to type on, it's a watch, but it does run Spotify well, takes calls well, and just might save your life.
