It worked seamlessly. There were no red flags in the online return that was submitted, and in the end, I got my refund just over two weeks later. I will ask later, after the tax-season-dust settles, for clarification on one note that came up during the preparation, but this didn't compromise the return itself.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

We’re so happy to hear you had a good experience. We appreciate your business and thank you for the valuable feedback!
I've used Turbotax in the past and found it to be better for more complicated tax matters. H&R Block was not as good handling the Schedule K information or in calculating and creating vouchers for estimated taxes for federal and state.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used H&R Block Premium software for years and used to be happy with it, but this year, I got a K-1 (Form 1041) and the software would not play nice. In box 14, it had code I; this meant I had a section 199A Information Worksheet. My worksheet was very simple; it already calculated the REIT number I needed to report. The H&R Block software would not let me enter this information. I couldn't find any option to add it. The software told me to consult a professional. I didn't need to consult a professional; I knew the number and that it went on line 6 of form 8995. The software already generated form 8995 for me due to other information in my tax return, but it wouldn't let me add this information. The only solution I could find online is to print off the forms, fill them out myself, and mail them to the IRS. What's the point of this software if I have to do everything manually? All the software needs to do is have a prompt for "Do you have any additional REIT or QBI to report?". If that prompt does exist, I couldn't find it, and the "AI" that's built into the software was incapable of answering my questions. I foresee myself having a similar K-1 form in the future. If H&R Block doesn't address this issue, then I cannot see myself purchasing from them again, as I'll have to do things manually anyway.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
