Horrible experience with software costing me lots of wasted time for the second year in a row. I bought Premier with state. When doing federal software quit several times and when I wanted to do state I was asked to buy it. More time on phone to get state then it would not load. More time lost.

I've been a TurboTax customer for years, but I've found their product growing increasingly difficult to use. Plus, I've had to check every number due to a couple of gotchas they missed.
As daunting as it seemed, I decided to make a break this year, Not only did I find H&R Block's software far more easier to navigate, but my TurboTax history from last year (including carryforwards) was imported without a hitch.

I have now used the H&R Block tax software for 3 years. The software user interface is intuitive and not difficult to use. I've had a tax professional/CPA check my return before submitting this year (2025 year) and they did not find any issues or additional tax reduction opportunities the software did not identify.

The 1099 chase down

After allowing the Links to import my financial info, I still had a hard time with the data entry.
Why do I need to go over and play games with the data imported. It would have been a 5 star
deal but the going over the 1099's is not a good thing. There needs to be a better system when importing 1099 info. I dont want to spend hours going over already imported data.
