The only problem I've had (and I've had this every year) is how to post 1099-NEC forms onto Schedule C. The program forces you to use the interview and I cannot complete this using the "Forms" option.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I've used H&R Block software for the passed 6 years. It has worked well. There have been a few times it had better descriptions for some of the entry fields, but overall it's a good software package. I also wish it had a better change history as far as why it made an adjustment to the tax value.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

The software works ok, but ineffective support for when email is rejected by IRS. I submitted correct AGI info. I hadn't file in years. IRS rejected my return and software was not helpful. Had to mail return, invalidating main reason why I had bought the software.

I have been using this product for 30 years. It is rapidly heading downhill in the past few years.
This year, for the first time ever, it had fatal bugs causing it to crash, which had to be fixed by updates. It also failed to e-file my California state taxes properly and it is not clear if it was rejected, which it previously claimed, but it now shows pending again, so I am in limbo. If you attempt to manually correct something you think is wrong, via override, it will not let you e-file.
