Pro: Taxes done: Con: Entries do not reference form box numbers and descriptions do not match form descriptions. Tax Planning module does not bother to provide current year information. Caveats displayed during data entry state H&R does not know if they are accurate.
Cons: Hard to prepare

I have never found a program that is so hard to get going. Trying to move back or forward is a night mare. your program to help estimate next year taxes cost me a penalty for under estimated taxes. It is nearly impossible to use.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

2 things could be improved that would have helped me a lot
1. If i know taking the standard deduction will be better than itemizing give an option to opt out of itemizing questions to streamline the process
2. There should be an easy way to compare with all the same uploaded pages MFJ vs the return for each person MFS. Then if my wife and i want to split the return into our own portions fairly it is easy. Also makes sure we file the best way

IP PIN prompt missing in fedl return queries!

Each year my fedl return gets rejected because I forgot to include that year's new IRS IP PIN. I then get a helpful prompt from HRBlock to go to fedl-misc and answer q whether I have an IRS issued IP PIN. I then retrieve the PIN and the return gets accepted.
The problem is that HRBlock fails to include the query of whether I have an IRS issued IP PIN in HRBlock's initial navigation/tour of fedl miscellaneous. CHeck it out: you'll see that query is not included. Nor do I see how to search for that query in the software! Consequently, each year I'm able to correct the fedl return only after it is rejected and I get HRBLock's navigation to the query in the fedl misc software.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The software makes it easy to file taxes and I feel confident about maximizing my refund. One feature request: after completing an interview that results in no change (for instance when determining whether a tax credit does not apply to me), the software should present the option of deleting the form. Sometimes these superfluous forms caused delays with being able to e-file.
