It seems the software is getty sloppy. In the Premium version a Schd E interview correctly triggered a QBI which requires a separate statement. It correctly filed out the statement, generated instructions on how to sign and copy it, and that I would be alerted when the time came to attach it to my return. Well, that time never came. I electronically filed my claim and there was never an opportunity to attach the signed QBI statement. I hope the IRS wasnt expecting it. The Business software has always been kludgy but it seems to work ok.

I’ve bought this product for so many years I can’t count! It always tells me when updates are coming and the feature I like best is “verification” did I complete the forms correctly.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Normally all goes pretty good with HR Block software; however, I tried to claim my 19 yr old kid who is going full time to college but the IRS did not accept this. So I filed without this dependent. I got a refund which was a lot less than if I had included dependent and college costs. So I decided to claim my kid again and added the cost of tuition then the IRS accepted this amended return...I have not seen the extra refund yet...we'll see. I guess the HR interview needs to change somehow to make sure you get this deduction...we'll see.

Been a Taxcut customer for 7 years. The state program was quirky (alabama). I had an IRA rollover, and it wouldn't let me enter 0 taxes due or paid. I had to enter something other than 0. I entered 1 dollar. I hope that doesn't get me audited.
Cons: Time consuming

Premium works great on all computers (Windows 10 and 11). But business only worked on a Windows 10 computer that was offline for 18 months. This was very frustrating. I was expecting a solution that worked. It was as though Business needed to be recompiled so it would work. When I finally got Business to work, I'd wasted 2 weeks and was truly up against it. Your help desk was a dead end. AI answers were better.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
