I can't file my return because the software can't properly calculate form 8962 and updates are not going out fast enough. Such a disappointment.

Been using HR Block for about 20 years. I had technical problems with the 2024 software. Just purchased the 2025 program and everything worked fine.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

This is actually two products in one. The software for personal taxes (form 1040, etc) is top notch. The interview process is easy to navigate. And the user interface is intuitive. Not so with the business software form 1041, etc). This is clunky and confusing. Instead of completing forms through a straightforward interview, it is more like entering data into fillable pdfs. At least it does the arithmetic for you. But this product is ugly.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I contacted my State to ask why I was being charged to e‑file. They told me the fee isn’t from them — it’s HR Block charging it. I purchased what I thought was a complete tax package, not a bait‑and‑switch add‑on.

I bought the program to be able to do a form 1041 and 1040. I have used the Deluxe program for years and very satisfied with the results.
I reviewed the different types of returns that I could use the Premium and Business for and that is the reason I purchased it.
Doing the 1040 was the same as using the Deluxe, was pleased with that.
Doing the 1041 was a challenge. Was able to finalize get the return completed and tried to EFile, but was notified that I could not EFile but do a paper copy. I was unhappy that in the research that you could not EFile a 1041 with this program and this is the reason for overall rating
