I have been using H&R Block tax software for years and have been very happy with the ease in filing my tax returns. The only improvement I would like to see is that with every software update, a description of how the updates affect the software. This is important as it will alert me if any changes affect my worksheets or tax forms.

I've been using H&R Block since way back when it was just Tax Cut. The simple stuff is pretty straight forward. This year I found something on a whole form that the interview process does not ask about and saved me a few dollars. I went back over the last couple year's returns and I could have saved about $80 over that time. There's other things that I've found somewhat confusing... like why doesn't it ask for 1099R input right from the beginning like it does for W2. After all, it replaces W2.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Uve used the software for years & this year the experience was awful. I was on the chat portion of the app & after 30 minutes of no response (after chatting for awhile), I gave up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

2025 software did not import from 2024 like it did in previous years. Imported minimal data through a kluge transfer via text file. Otherwise, filing went OK.
