I was very disappointed that I was not able to import data from my Merrill Lynch account. In previous years this was easily done; but, this year ML was dropped as an import choice. I may switch to TurboTax.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to import documents

This program does not dig down to ensure all options are explored. I did a state and it missed a huge write off and now I have to refile and pay to refile and I'm not getting any assistance from this company.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

Comprehensive application that enables filing

Very thorough application for my MacBook Pro.
H&R Block provides the download updater that was needed to update the application as the update software process failed.
This has happened for this tax year and for the previous year as well.
The interview process is clear.
The implementation of tax law regarding royalty from eBook publication was byzantine, but I blame IRS for that.
The app assumes royalty for rentals for some reason.
Miscellaneous income worked.
H&R Block provides the download updater that was needed to update the application as the update software process failed.
This has happened for this tax year and for the previous year as well.

Couple of Problems

A couple of problems.
1. After entering the1099-INT, 1099-DIV and 1099-R, entries when you want to go back to review your responses to questions and $ entraps,, the screens should display just which interest or dividend or retirement i you have selected for review. This would confirm just which one you had selected for review.
2.In 2024 I successful submitted my return but subsequently needed to submit an amended return. This year( 2025) the program generated an incorrect 2024 Adusted Gross Income (AGI) so that I had to resubmit the 2025 return with the correct 2024 AGI
