Impressive unit for its size

Although I've longed for a pressure-washer for some time, I have not bought one because I've always considered them to be cumbersome & costly, for occasional use. The Greenworks GPW1501 has removed those objections.
As others have already mentioned, it's a compact unit and frankly, unpacking it, I felt there was going to be issues with it not being powerful enough but reading the quick-start guide was a breeze and I set-to cleaning the north-facing elevation of vinyl siding, uncleaned for at least eight years and showing lichen & algal growth from nearby bushes. I did have to snip a few branches away to get a clear shot of the vinyl but once sorted, connected water & power and switched on, having connecting the green nozzle.
As I mentioned, I haven't used a power-washer before but have seen those (misleading) TV ads which show sprays shooting almost over the roof, so you can imagine my disappointment when, standing at the edge of the lawn with the nozzle about 2 feet away from the siding, there just appeared to be a spray exiting the nozzle without any force on the siding! So wondering if I was doing something wrong, I checked the booklet and tried again but this time with the nozzle about 4" from the siding. What a difference!!
Without using the detergent-bottle, the resultant force just stripped the lichen & algae cleanly from the siding. What a relief! The alternative crossed my mind that I might have to use a bucket & brush to scrub it clean and I wasn't looking forward to that!
I proceeded to clean the front siding, inner porch ceiling (in which PVC), the door-frame & door, the porch wooden floor and two pillars and finally, two stone-steps and granite-cobbled pathway. The unit performed flawlessly although I did get into a tangle at one point with hose & electric-lead but that was user-error!
I have just three observations to add as a 'wish-list' to suggest as improvements.
1) Extended wand-length.
2) Better, less-kinking pressure-hose.
3) Taller unit from base to handle-top.

I am 6'2" with about 3' arm-reach and standing at the edge of the lawn/border and using the standard want, I was unable to spray within the useful 4-6" needed, to clean beneath the eaves. In the end I did what I could but bushes in the way would make ladder-use very awkward. If there was an additional 4' extension within the unit (if it didn't affect the power-output), I think anyone could clean their single-storey property easily.
The pressure-hose from unit to wand, could do with being a non-kink variety of material ... similar to some of those TV ads for metallic hoses ... since even though I unwound it to straighten before use, it was cold outside and moving from place to place, just caused loops to form from it's memory.
Coiling-up the electric-cable and the pressure-hose after use could perhaps, be improved upon if the unit itself could accommodate the winding, rather than a (usefully included) velcro strap for the hose & a plastic-tie for the cable. To house the windings though, I think the units should be a bit taller.
None of the suggestions though should detract anyone from considering to buy this unit. In fact I was quite shocked to see how little it cost AFTER using it and posting this review.

Great little machine for the size !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had no problems what so ever with this machine , easy to put together and hook up , instructions were easy to read and understand, power cord and hose was a good length, this machine had plenty of power for its size , would be good for smaller jobs like washing your car , spraying off lawn furniture, spraying off your boat , power washing your deck , you can see I did try it on a patio (see pictures) probably could get more off if I spent more time on it , also used it to spray off the rocks in my pond , only thing I would recommend would be like a 0° or 15° nozzle with it to get the tougher stains out, it comes with a 25° and 40° . Would also like a way to wrap the power cord up on it better too. But overall I did like using it .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced my old 2 tank greenworks pressure washer with this one. Pleasantly surprised. This unit takes up a lot less room, it also builds pressure up quickly.
Also electrical cord placement will prevent it from eroding away cord insulation like my previous unit did.

Functions well and easy to use. the 1500 psi was plenty strong enough for what I needed.
Only wish that it came with more nozzle choices and that it had a way to store/hold the cord when not in use.

Works great - More power than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Instructions are great. Set up is easy to understand and complete. Used on a brick wall that was badly stained along drive way. Both nozzles worked fine. Attached pictures of results. Wall was about 20' by 4' and I finished it in less than 45 minutes. A little machine with great power and results. Photos attached. I was surprised at the power and results from such a small machine. Power cord could be longer to reach further from power source since it is recommended not to use an extension cord.

Very capable multi-purpose pressure washer

Unboxing: Pressure washer with two spray tips and 35' power cord with CGFI plug. High pressure hose. Trigger handle with trigger lockout and wand. Detergent tank. Owners manual. Quick start page.
Initial Impression: I was a little surprised by its compact size, approx 19h x 11w x 7d without accessories. I was expecting something larger and heavier. The accessories fit nicely behind the large, top handle of the washer. This well thought out design makes 1 handed carrying quick, light and easy. Another nice feature is the detergent tank that attaches to the trigger handle and the back of the washer when not in use. The water intake is located on the lower left side while the water outlet sits in the bottom center of the unit. The large on/off switch is easy to operate with gloves on.
Performance: I followed quick start page directions and allowed the water to run for 2 minutes with the unit off to purge any air in the system. Connections were a nice tight fit with no leaks. While small and light, this washer packs a decent punch. Now it's not going to strip the paint from your shingles or deep scrub your sidewalk. It doesn't have the psi or proper spray tips for those "heavy duty" type jobs. However, it was more than adequate at cleaning my screened in porch, windows, and wonderful on my cars without the risk of causing damage. The wheels came out sparkling like new and I was able to get to the backside of the rims to clean them. I realize nobody really sees it but I know the grime is there and I was happy to blast it away. Here in FL we also have a problem with certain insect nests attached to the house. This unit did a great job at clearing the black residue these nests leave behind.
Overall I find this to be a great general purpose pressure washer. I'm sure I'll find other uses for it in the near future.

I have a GPW1602. I bought this for the purpose of car washing last summer. I used it about once a month. But, that starts then stops repeatedly how do I fix it.
I works fine for about 1 or 2 minutes then starts then stops repeatedly.
I am looking for parts for repair purposes, but I need to replace the motor assy.
Also, I sent an e-mail to the customer center and they have no answer.

I am sorry to read about your troubles with the GPW1602. The issue you're experiencing sounds as though there might be air in the tank. We do recommend that you purge the unit before use.
Try following these steps:
The unit should be off.
Connect the garden hose to the pressure washer.
Connect the high pressure hose and the spray gun/wand. No nozzle.
Turn the water on.
Hold down and squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to purge out any water or air from the unit for a good 1 - 2 minutes. This will relieve any built-up pressure.
If the issue continues to occur after purging, check the pressure of your water line, it should be at least 50 P.S.I which is the standard pressure from a household water line in North America. Make sure the hose is properly secured to the inlet and the clean the nozzle if necessary. Take a paper clip size pin (or similar tool) and use it to clear any debris stuck in the hole as you rinse it under water.

Purchased in late April early May 2017 have less than 15hrs use and machine will only run for about 5mins and it cuts off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If the pressure washer pulsates and the water stream is intermittent we recommend purging/bleeding the unit.
1. Make sure the garden hose is connected & turned on fully (and make sure there are no kinks in the garden hose or high pressure hose)
2. Hold down gun trigger handle so water runs through the unit - make sure customer takes off any nozzle that may be on at the end of the wand & that the unit is not turned on - hold down for about 3-5 mins
3. While holding gun handle down turn unit on.
Checking that all filters & nozzles are clean.
