For this price point I expected something where I could easily adjust the monitor. It's either too stiff to move up and down, or it's not strong enough to support the 27" flat screen I've got. It's solid and it looks great, but I've gone back to using books to support the monitor. Very disappointed.
Put a 20.4lb monitor on a stand that is supposed to support 30 and you'd think it would hold it - it doesn't. I have tightened up the ball joint to the VESA mount so hard I'm afraid the bolt will snap and it still tilts down without support. Completely the wrong joint to use for a heavy monitor. Poor form 3M. I have rated this stand so poorly because it is basically useless and poorly designed.
We are a business that bought over 200 of these last year for a monitor and cart that we sell. We cannot use the L-brackets that come with this arm on our cart, so we remove them and insert the hand knob that's used to tighten the clamp into the base of the arm tube that mounts on top of the table. In the last couple of months, we have had to return up to 50% of these arms per shipment because the knob will no longer screw into the base as before. This is a recent problem. We are currently working with 3M to find a solution to this problem. Otherwise, this arm has worked great for us.
This was the cheapest option available that would support a 32 inch, 30Lb screen. My expectations were not very high and my monitor falls at the high end of the weight support for this mount. Pros: easy assembly. handles up to 30 Lb (my display is 30 Lb and the mount seems pretty solid) Good height and extension length. Full range of motion is easily achievable even with a heavy display like mine Cons: Does not support Vesa 200x200 (had to buy extensions) The height once set can not be adjusted while the monitor is attached. Several adjustments required for heavier displays. (initially would not hold position while monitor was in use) See images
