After a week with using the mat I am content with its results; my stool glides across the surface and it's protecting the carpet. Although I miscalculated the length of the carpet to be short enough the mat still stayed in place. The only minor downside is the indenting in the mat but that's kind of expected because of that said carpet length miscalculation.

I bought this to replace an older chair mat that was starting to crack. It's the perfect size for my home office desk chair which is a regular size chair on 5 casters. We will see how this one holds up. Only issue I had was it was super dusty and dirty when delivered. Not a bid deal but you would think it might come wrapped in something to keep the dirt off when in transit.

this mat is thin and develops depressions after a week or two over medium plush carpet. i would not recommend it.
