This nice mat is specified for short pile carpet which I didn't notice until I unwrapped at home and realized there might be a problem as my carpet is 1/2" pile. No problem. It works fine and stays put.

The subject mat is one size smaller than the Staples mat I had previously. The larger mat cracked and became too rough a surface to move the chair around after 2-3 years usage. The subject replacement will not stay in place on the carpet and when it comes in contact with adjacent furniture i.e. the leg of a hideaway bed couch it bends upward as the mat continues to move against it. The cleats are insufficient to hold the mat in place as the chair moves about. Accordingly the smaller mat is not satisfactory.
