I bought this to replace a chair mat that was quite old and falling apart. But this seems smaller and cheaper. Not that happy with it.

*had very limited dollars to spend *was designed to be used on a thinner carpet but working well even with padding *have not owned long enough yet to rate durability *could be just a little larger especially the portion that fits under the desk

It works as expected! It is easy to install too. My chair rolls so much easier and better on this Stalpes flat pile carpet chair mat than on the bare carpeted floor. I purchase this with $10.00 off coupon made it a good deal too.
