Overall a good product but it needs to be a little thicker. It's the third one I've owned and each has ended up splitting apart after about 2 years of use.

the mat is really thick and doesn't leave dents. But the knobs that hold the mat in place are too short so the mat moves.

Nice mat needed if you have a weight on the chair and it is over a rug. I have the other less thick which my wife now has. She weighs less. Great buy for the money.

This chair mat is TERRIBLE!

I have only been using it for 4 days and I already have ruts where my chair rollers sit. It is a real nuisance to roll around and I don't even have a very thick carpet! This is rated for medium pile carpet and it was supposed to have a lip which it does not which is fine with me. I wonder however if I received the correct mat. Regardless I plan on returning it as soon as I can. Also it was received with curled edges - I had to use a hair dryer to get them to flatten out. I'm not a happy camper as I don't have time for this!

Doesn’t snag the carpet.

I got the Staples Medium Pile Chair May because I just got new carpeting and didn’t want it snagged by the mat. Unlike the low pile mats this one doesn’t have sharp points but rounded nubs. It holds onto the carpet just as well but doesn’t pull threads. It’s a little narrower than I needed (I roll around a bit when I’m working) but I didn’t have room for the next size up.

Minor Issues

For thick carpet needs deeper cleats. The chair wheels leave dimple marks in the surface and the wheel rolls back into the dimples so you are constantly moving the chair back into place.

Sinks into the Carpet

Even though this chair mat is designated as being for plush carpeted floors up to 3/4" thick the chair rollers sink into the carpet making it hard to roll the chair around. Stuck in a rut. At least I expect it to protect the carpet. I would have gotten the thickest one availabled but it's too large for the area.
