It works only for a while

I would spend more to find something that holds up better. It is used solely to protect the carpet underneath. It usually breaks into pieces after one year or so.

Matt is too thin period. Chair wheels dig deep into the matt/carpet. Much different than the smooth glide of my previous matt (worn out after 10-yrs). I guess it provides carpet protection but it's definitely not a "smooth glide". I don't recommend buying.

Do yourself a favor and buy the more expensive chair mat .. .I wish I would have. I had a mat for 10+ years on a hardwood floor but now I needed one with grippers to go over carpet. It STILL slides and my chair wheels make huge indentations. Get a better mat! Not a great choice too thin.
