Needed to not be on the carpet. The makes the chair much easier to move around the desk space.

We recently built a home office upstaris inside our 8' long closet. What we didn't plan on was the chair sitting on the guard rail for the doors. The transition is carpet to linoleum with a metal strip in the middle. After using the protector the carpet is no longer tearing up and the chair is no longer getting stuck in the rut of the rail. Smooth rolling back and forth sturdy construction and it's reduced the transfer of noise through the floor as well. That was a huge surprise and relief.
This is a great tool for average to slightly above home use. It’s fairly small space if you roll around a lot but the product itself is quite good.

Not very thick and it slides around on the carpet easily. If someone is standing on it the edges curl up and are a tripping hazard. That being said it allows my chair to move around on the carpet which is what it is supposed to do and what I needed it for.

The mat works well under a desk chair with casters sitting on a carpeted floor. It protects the carpet without leaving irremovable imprints in the floor. Best of all the mat was on sale and I got a very good buy.
This purchase replaced an exiting mat that lasted 15 years. I hope the new mat is as durable. I thought the current price was a bit too high but I didn't want to shop around for a better deal.
