The mat is perfect for using at my computer desk. It has a rough side that bites into the carpet so it doesn't slip and the smooth top side that lets the chair glide around easily.

The mat is just not thick enough. Chair wheels make dents in mat then the chair does not want to roll freely.

I got the clear plastic mat and it's fine. But I may get one of the colored ones to use over the beige carpet and put the first one in another room.
