Mat not too strong

We needed a new plastic mat under the desk in our front room. Staples sent a coupon so we decided to use it for the mat. The plastic mat is the correct size but is a little bumpy under the desk. It sits on top of a rug and the chair sometimes has a problem sliding over the bumps in the mat. the last mat developed a crack in it and I hope this one is stronger. I am slightly worried because it already is bumpy. A plastic desk chair on casters has to glide over the mat. Maybe we should have purchased a thicker mat.

I love the idea of the chair mat. However the mat itself is very soft so the chair rollers sink into the mat and it’s tough to roll on the mat. The mat also shifts and doesn’t stay put on the carpet. It’s possible the carpet pile is a tad high.

Plastic is too think I don't have a thick carpet but the chair still makes indentations into this plastic mat so it's hard to roll the chair out of the dents.
