Great Pad!!!

This is the second pad like this that I've purchased. It is Crystal Clear does not shift has no odor and handles regular domestic cut pile carpeting well. Don't buy the cheaper pads if you have carpet!!! After 12 years my old one is still working great but it is developing spider cracks where the office chair travels over it and the plastic is getting ever so slightly milky in appearance. That is excellent performance in my book. Highly recommended.

Not what I expected

I wanted to get a mat that chair casters would not sink into the mat when setting in my chair so the chair would role easily on the Mat. This Mat does not come close it is slightly better than the cheap mat it replaces. Staples rated this Mat for use on one inch Pile Carpet and Pad best available found. It fails to do the job on this pile that is less than an inch. So far the sinking dips do seem to recover in time after the chair is moved. I weigh 250 pounds many men weigh much more. It seems the best you have to offer so decided I will have to live with it at least for now.

Even though this is an "extra carpet" mat I'm afraid the chair wheels still leave small divots in the mat which make it difficult to navigate around. It is definitely better than no mat but I think next time we might try glass.

heavy carpet pad for thick carpets

When the carpet is thick you need heavy gauge plastic to avoid tearing up the carpet and the padding. I have purchased 2 of these (1 for each home office) and they work great. Easy for the chair to move on. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 stars is that the pad shifts after a few days and it's heavy and bulky to move back in place. But that's a small price to pay for protecting my carpets.

not pleased at all in fact very poor quality---terrible. the mat is not hard enough and gets dimples in it from the rollers on my chair. in fact when seated in the same position for awhile it's difficult to move back or forward on the the chair because of the dimples. the material should be harder/stiffer. the previous mat I had was also bought at staples some years ago and was of much better quality i.e. stiffer and harder and it did not get dimples like this one. you need to do something about this---and this is the best one you have??

Extra-High Pile Carpet Chairmat Review

The high-pile chair mat was for my home. My carpet pile is not that thick but my previous mat was very thick and sturdy. The mat I bought recently was unexpectedly very soft and pliable. The weight of the chair alone put small divits into the mat. When I sat in the chair the 5-point chair wheels sank down and almost anchored my chair to the mat. I have taken the mat back as it is not doing the job it is supposed to. I would venture a guess that it was mis-labeled and should be for commercial carpets only.
