I purchase this item because I had just replace a floor rug with a thicker one. This item is rated for carpets like mine and it has not broken.

Does not hold on thick carpet

I bought this mat to replace an existing mat that was still in great shape. The reason I purchased it wa because the existing mat slid frequently on the new (plush) carpet. This mat does the same thing. It does not hold in place on the plush carpet.

Does what it says it would. I have a high-pile carpet and we already had to take everything out once because the carpet moved. Now I bought the chairmat and tucked it under the desk to make sure that the carpet doesn't move when the chair moves back and forth the carpet stays in place. Like I said it does the job it is supposed to do.

This mat is perfect for med pile carpet in my office office. The flattened edges make it easy to move the trolling desk chair on and off.
