I ordered this particular chair mat after looking at all the mats offered by Staples. This mat is thick with non-pointed nubs on the bottom. It has a nice beveled edge allowing the chair to roll of and on the mat easily. It is thick enough that the chair doesn't depress the mat too much. You must expect some give but due to the thickness the flex is minimal. I would buy this product again. It was worth the extra cost over the cheaper mats.

Have only used this mat in the past. It works very well on carpet. The only down side is that it holds up for 2 to 2 1/2 years and then falls apart.

THIS IS TYPICAL OF THIS PRODUCT MADE BY ROBBINS. MATERIAL IS TOO THIN AND TOO SOFT FOR TODAY'S OFFICE CHAIRS WITH WHEELS. I PLAN ON USING THE OLD CHAIR MAT AND PLACE THE NEW ONE ON TOP FOR BETTER STABILITY LESS CRUSH BY THE WHEELS. A BETTER ALTERNATIVE WOULD BE TO MAKE A CHAIR MAT FROM THE HARDWOOD FLOOR LAMINATES AT THE HOME CENTERS. ONE CAN CUSTOM DESIGN THE SIZE WITH A WOOD COLOR TO MATCH THE OFFICE. VELCRO ON THE BOTTOM WOULD ELIMINATE THE SLIDING. THAT'S MY SOLUTION TO ALL THE CON REPORTS ON THE STAPLES FORUM PAGES....
