Basically a rolled up chair mat never ends up flat. This chair delivered by Staples is shipped "flat" and laid flat on the floor. While it does dimple where the wheels sit it does not dimple enough to cause a problem wheeling about. Considering how bad the other mats were this one is great.Very satisfied.Particularly with the reasonable price.
I have a plush carpet in my home office so I bought the Staples PlushMat Chair Mat to use with my desk and office chair. The wheels of the chair rides on the mat well enough; however sitting in the chair for long periods causes deep impressions in the mat which gets the wheels stuck. It’s somewhat annoying having to rock the chair back and forth to get out of the ruts but it would be harder to roll the chair on the carpet itself without the mat. Anyway as I said it works well enough depending on the deepness or plush of your carpet but I wish the mat was thicker to minimize the deep impressions/ruts. Ultimately I’d tentatively recommend that mat depending on how thick your carpet is.

Appears to be of good quality. Life w/o cracking or discolor is major consideration. Contact me again in two years.

The mat does the job. I had a previous mat bought from Staples and it was a bit thicker and a little easier to roll; apparently that product is no longer available.
My carpet plus pad measures 3/4 inch so this mat should work. But after a month it already had semipermanent indentations where the chair wheels tend to be when I'm working. And of course the wheels tend to roll into those indentations making them worse. I had a more rigid mat for some 20 years but it finally cracked. Description indicated that this would work but it's not suitable for anything more than an extremely low-pile carpet. On the positive side it looks good. If I rarely sat in the chair I suspect it would be fine.
