The product description states that this mat is designed for high pile carpets but it did not stay in place and moved around quite a bit as the chair moved. I ended up returning the product.

Poor mat chair mat has indentations from wheels plus part where tag was glued on mat is very sticky and I still have not been able to remove that from mat. Shoes get stuck on mat! Very disappointed.

It's a good chair mat......

I am happy with this mat. It's big enough and it is strong. It is the second that I have purchased it because it is better than any other but it really doesn't last over a couple of years or so. It gets cracks and indentations......but it is better than any that I have tried on top of carpet with any kind of pile to it. I will buy it again next time......hopefully not for 2 or 3 years! Hey I work at home and need a good mat.......

I purchased this matt 3 years ago but didn't know what kind it was to replace it. I went through records from 3 years ago to find the receipt so I could order the same one. I found it ordered it and very happy.

High Pile?

Not sure what makes this "high pile". Ordered some standard mats for a co-worker and the thickness of this mat and theirs was the same as well as the depth of the "teeth". This one indents a lot under the chair casters so I am expecting cracks when the material gets brittle. On the plus side the top surface is smooth and the edges are finished nicely and not sharp.

I'm 240lbs and the chair wheels dent the mat making it hard to move after setting for just a few mins. Time will tell how long it can do this without cracking???
