We needed something on top of our carpet where computer and desk sets. The constant wear and tear in the area was staining and ruining the carpet and sliding desk chair was hard to scoot about on. The mat has fixed all of this. Wish we had found this sooner!
A great durable chair mat for at home or in the office. This mat works great on carpet or hardwood floors. Again this mat does not slide or move once it his flattened out from being rolled up in the store. A must have to replace those old broken cracking chair matts. I went from getting those other matts every two or three months to this one. It has lasted at least six months and still does not show any wear. I have one of this matts in my office at home and I will be getting more for the desks at work.
I bought this mat to be used under my task chair at my office where I work up to twelve hours a day and sometimes 6 days a week. I have only been using it for a few weeks. No wear is discernible yet. My chair has five legs and has carpet casters. The chair moves very smoothly over the mat and easily moves back onto the mat when I go beyond its coverage. The mat is 46" by 60" which is the largest I could find. I could have used a 50" by 70" if it were available. My work station is surrounded by my desk a lateral file cabinet and credenza and a paper shredder. I constantly move throughout the day in all four directions. Before I had this mat my chair rode directly on the landlord's wall to wall industrial carpeting and the carpet was wearing thin.
I bought this chairmat because it was advertised to protect my carpet and would be easy to roll on. I bought the smallest size so it would fit under the desk and a little ways behind the chair for good coverage. It does not lay flat on the carpet and I have sturdy very short pile carpet. Also the chair wheels do not roll on it. Instead they make grooves in the plastic and I have to physically get out of the chair and move it to where I want to sit each time I need to resituate. This chair mat is better used on probably tile or wood floors but definitely not carpet.
