stinky chair mat

I received the chair mat several weeks ago. It is very smelly with a plastic smell and the headache I received was almost immediate. I have it in the garage hoping I'll be able to use it soon. Probably better if you are sensitive to buy one from a store that has had them hanging on the rack and therefore the smell has dissipated. Previous to this I have been please with Staples chair mats. Hopefully SOON I will be pleased with this one. The reason for purchasing it and having it delivered to the house was because my store did not carry the biggest size which is what I need this time. In general I am very pleased with Staples and this is a rare complain but I can't work with such a headache.

Great mat on hardwood floors!

I purchased this mat to cover my office floors which are hardwood. It is so great to roll around in my chair and know that I'm not scratching the wood.

Liked the mat but stickers would come off

The mats we bought were perfect but for some odd reason Staples put there shipping stickers directly on the mat which is annoying because they don't come off without ripping. Now its a huge eye sore for the map

Lasts about a year with regular use

This will be about the 6th time I have bought this type of mat from Staples in the last 7 0r 8 year4s. I only weigh about 185 lbs. yet the wheels of my Staples chair make a dent in the plastic. After a year or so the plastic cracks and the shards can be very dangerous especially if working without shoes. If it lasts less than a year I get a free one under warranty but usually it lasts 13-15 months and I need to pay for a new one. Unfortunately there's no alternative.
