Downsizing and Organization

I have been downsizing from a large home to one half the size. In an effort to fit many things into a much smaller space I have taken to the internet for some organization ideas. This idea came from Alejandra Costello from one of her videos. As I do not save things for collectors and posterity I felt no amount of guilt removing all the music CD's and movie DVD's from their crystal cases. I replaced each of them in these CD/DVD envelopes and labeled each one. I did the same for computer back up discs and other computer program disks. I put these alphabetized into boxes and labeled the small boxes. I have take the product that took up two full shelves in a cabinet to about 1/4 the space. I can also locate the disk so much faster.

Organizing

The kids DVDs were taking up so much space and they refused to get rid of any of them(even the scratched ones). We reached a compromise! They could keep all of them if they would agree to let me throw away/recycle all the cases. I put the DVDs into the Staples paper envelopes and sorted them alphabetically. Now they all fit in a decorative box which makes me happy! They are also happy because they can find the DVD they are looking for in a minute and they didn't have to give up any. Now if I could just figure out what to do with the VHSs.

Project sleeves

These CD/DVD envelopes were bought for a rather large picture CD project I am doing and they are every bit as good as the more expensive brand name sleeves I had prior. The same 50 count were at least $2 cheaper and there is no difference in the quality of these envelopes. Therefore I would say it is a win-win situation. I save money my recipients are not going to feel they got a cheaper quality and everyone is happy. I would totally recommend these to be used and will use them again if the need arises in the future.

Thank you for the reward opportunity. I made this purchase to file and organize my movie collection. I will be able to dispense with the bulky albums and make it more convenient for locating movies. I will be purchasing more as I continue to work on this project. Thanks again
