I love these Flat Pile Carpet Chair Mats that Staples sells because they last a long time and they protect the carpet and make the chairs glide in back and forth from my desk much easier.

I am not completely happy with this product. The wheels on my desk chair leave deep indentations and that makes it difficult to move the chair. I previously had one of these mats when I was working and I remember it being somewhat thicker more like a tile of plastic. When I move the chair I have to get up off it and the dents remain in the plastic long after I have relocated the chair. Twice this thickness would maybe be better. This is too soft. I have this over a rug and feel it is not what I previously had in my work. I would only recommend this for placement on a hard surface.
