The mat sinks into the carpet leaving wells that the wheels on the chair sinks into. Extremely difficult to roll over. I can't think of any other way to describe it...I would say it is only good on hard surface floors not carpeting.

The floor protector is a thinner plastic but does what it is suppose to. You can see the indentation of the office chair but it is protecting the floor.

Not necessarily the products failure. After one floor mat returned that was recommended by the store (one for wood floor even though I told the salesperson I had carpet) this product was recommended instead. But it too does not work with my carpet. Should have been one for thicker carpet. Perhaps the store didn't have the one I should have and so they sold this one. NOT HAPPY !!!

I did not know how hard chair mats were to locate. Found this one at Staples and it was reasonably priced. Took it to the office and put it on thick carpet. That was a mistake. This cover will NOT work on thick carpet. I should have been more careful with my selection.If you have carpet look for a higher quality and one that will lay smooth on carpet.
