My mistake. The mat is more durable than the last one I purchased but it's not large enough to cover the area required.

It looks good and was reasonably priced. It looks stylish under my new chair and allows me to slide back and forth to work at my computer and get reference material from my cabinet.

Flat Pile Carpet Chair Mat w/Lip 36x48

The price was standard. Didn't catch any sales but still happy with my decision. It came rolled but flattened out within minutes under the weight of the chair. The tiny spikes on the bottom help keep it in place while I move forward and backward in the chair. The lip gives me a solid surface under my feet. Happy with my purchase!

Though thinner than I thought they'd be seem plenty stiff for the purpose. Won't swat beneath the chair and perform to all expectations.

Cracked under home use on berber carpet

When I purchased this product under the exact same Staples Item Number three years ago it was sold as "Staples Chairmat for Plush or Thick Carpets". Since I use it on a very low-pile berber carpet and only for home use I expected it to easily handle my usage. I weigh about 155 lbs and am using a 5-caster chair on it. I don't recall exactly when the cracks started to appear in the mat but I know it's been many months. Now the cracks are large enough that they prevent the chair from rolling smoothly until I pop the pieces back in place. For a chairmat in this price range and sold as a product for "plush or thick carpets" I expected it to perform better. It does have a "limited lifetime warranty" so I'll be calling the local retail store this week to see if I can get a free replacement.

I really don't like this product

Product does not stay in one place atop the carpet and keeps sliding around. Thought the bottom plastic protrusions with the weight of the chair would be enough to keep the flat chair pile carpet chair mat in one place. Maybe the protrusions need to be a little bit longer on the underside. I did not have the same problem with the previous product that I purchased at the same store. Hoping the plastic protrusions on the mat underside did not get smaller since I purchased the last product.
