This is the second one I'm purchasing as the first one still in use but with another chair is still doing its job. The reason I am purchasing the second one is the one it's replacing doesn't grip the carpet and thus moves around. That makes it difficult to use and cumbersome when trying to put it back in place. The one I'm buying stays in place and allows me to move my chair effortlessly. Its weight is sufficient to hold my rolling office chair and the surface of the carpet mat allows the chair to move easily. This mat protects my carpet and because it's clear it doesn't interfere with my decor. In fact it's hardly noticeable. The price point is good. I think I'm getting good value for my investment.
Great for office or home. Protects your carpeting from excessive wear and tear. Good size for office chairs. Would have wished it were a bit thicker but for my purpose it is OK. Does not seem to crack slightly pliable.
With coupons and discounts it was reasonably priced but I wanted their heaviest duty mat and this is it. It's not as rigid as one might think - the wheels do make a (temporary) impressing that makes resistance to the initial roll and forms a low spot into which the chair rolls. This is at room temperature. It's much stiffer in the cold - and so if you get it delivered and it's cold let it uncurl on its own so it doesn't crack. No issues with mine in that regard. Note that I've bought a couple of these. The first one came via UPS in a box rolled up the second one came via Staples own delivery so it was flat and not packaged. Just a label on it (pain in the neck to get the label off). One comment on the Staples delivery. This is a CLEAR PLASTIC mat. They put it on our front porch (which we don't use but do check for packages) here in Connecticut where it was about 0 degrees (F) when delivered. We didn't see it on the porch at first rechecked when I saw online that it had been delivered. Not smart. It could have languished out there until spring especially with all the snow we've had.
This chair mat was what the doctor ordered! For the longest time I had been using an old cotton-based rug in my home office to cushion my rolling chair (purchased at Staples) from the extremely aged carpet in an old bedroom I converted into a library-office for projects underway once I retired. It was a constant struggle to keep the rug from bunching up as well as keeping the carpet properly cleaned. I was told that one or two more machine washes of the mat would result in its disintegration lol! Not only is the rug still usable I can now smoothly move the chair in the office with ease! Thank you.
