I've purchased 2-3 of these mats before and for some reason this one will not stay in place and I constantly have to realign it! the carpet is the same as the last one I had. what gives?

Rollers on desk chair still sinking in when in same position foreven a short time. Just buy the heavy pad from the start or asheet of plywood to put under.

Great chair mat but when Staples ships it they roll it up and tape it with a really cheap tape that is IMPOSSIBLE to remove. You'll start with your fingernails then a ruler or scrapper of some sort your try a solvent and so on and on... eventually you'll just get frustrated and leave the tape there and it looks terrible for the life of the chair mat. Pro-Tip: Put your favorite poster under your chair mat for a little extra decoration and to let people know that you really do have a life outside work.
