I use glue sticks where I may want to move an item a week or so later. The brands I've used are RiteAid Elmer's Ayer's and Staples. Ayer's seems most likely to allow removal without tearing. So far the Staples has also performed well. I was least pleased with Elmer's.

I was using the glue sticks to make Christmas cards but they did not stick to cardstock. Useless as far as I am concerned. I plan to return them because they are ineffectual.
