I desperately needed to send a mass of tax related papers to the firm that does them. The clutch of papers was so thick that it would not squeeze in to a 9” x 12” model. So off I loped to the almost nearby Staples to purchase some mailing device for my mission. After circling the store I found my way to the envelope section which had been moved since my last visit. Once there I found a fine selection of size and texture options. Since it was just printed papers of a nearly uniform size I chose a plain tan/brown envelope that was 10” x 13”. With a gummed flap and small metal clasp my treasure trove was well protected from the “rain sleet and dead of night” that soon to be inflicted by the United States Post Office system. Packing tape insured a strong seal at the flap. A preeminent marker with a narrow point allowed for easy addressing that would not fall off. A few days later the accounting firm called to ask a few questions so I knew that the stout envelope had arrived.
