We had purchased low pile chair mats at the store and needed high pile instead. When they came the sticker said high pile but they were the exact same chair mats as the low pile. They slide all over the place. Definitely not for high pile carpet.

Okay but not great! Chair wheels make a depression in mat that is difficult to get out of while seated in chair.

Nice chair mat

Time will tell how long it will last. It is thicker than my last one so hopefully it will last longer. Although this is the thickest mat that Staples or Office Depot offer and is rated for 1" carpeting it is like the minimum thickness suitable for home use. I have 1/2" carpet with a 3/8" mat for 7/8" total not exactly high pile by home standards but barely within the 1" rating. Before I ordered it I had some doubts about the rectangular studs but they seem to work fine and the mat stays in place. Staples lists the mat as being made of resin which I couldn't find described on the web but the mat looks and acts like a vinyl mat. Maybe it is vinyl. In any case it it seems fine.

It dents

I have this over a residential carpet with a deep pile. The mat dents and the casters get caught in the digits as badly as if it’s on the carpet only.

The carpet chair mat is not suited for over a carpet. I purchased the high pile style at least that is what the ad stated. I don't have a thick carpet at all and thought it would be fine. I set it on the floor and placed a five footed light weight chair on top. Without any additional weight in the chair the rollers made indention's in the mat. When you sit on the chair for just a short time the mat is so soft that the chair rollers sink into it and you cannot move the chair. The mat is not only not ridged enough but not thick enough either. It is not as advertised. It now sits on my porch awaiting return. It does not appear that I can give it less than one star or I would.

Much more substantial than other mats. We use it on a 3/8" carpet and are very pleased with it.

Great chair mat. It replaced one that was cracking and well used. It is a good quality and it so nice to be able to roll my chair smoothly again.
