Staples® 46" x 60" High Pile Carpet Chair Mat Rectangular

The mat arrived on the date promised. The mat was difficult to lay flat due to outdoor temperature during shipment. But it is thick enough (145 mil) to stand up to heavy rolling chair usage and fits the area perfectly.

This mat is about 1/2 as thick as one I purchased from Staples about 10 years ago. That one was "High Pile" as well. I'm hoping the new one will provide similar service. We'll see!

Not for chairs with thin rollers

I passed up on the matts in the store because they were out of heavy duty ones. I ordered the heavy duty one on the web site. It was a big one and fit my space perfectly. I bought a very expensive chair at the store (the red Sealy one). It's the only red chair in the store and you've probably seen it. The chair has two rollers on each leg and they are each very thin (1/2in). When measured together they span around 2 in. It makes a good solid contact with the matt but the matt dents under the weight of me and the chair. I'm 250lbs but 6'3". I think if the matt was really built heavy duty it would take my weight. As it is now the indentations of the rollers have made points that the chair gets stuck in and becomes very hard to move the chair. Simply put the matt needs to be thicker if it is to be called a heavy duty matt. I said I would recommend this but only with a warning it may indent.

Not as advertised!

As soon as I put my desk chair (5 point ball casters) on the mat divots were created. I could not easily move the chair. I didn't even sit in the chair yet! This does NOT work for medium to high pile carpet at all. The advertised use is completely bogus.

Not stiff enough; chair rolls only with substantial difficulty. Feet on bottom aren't long enough to allow the mat to stay in place forcing daily repositioning.

Still doesn't seem thick enough for the pile of my carpet. Just the weight of the chair makes some dent. Don't know that I could do any better without spending an bunde or buying 2 to put on top of the other Came flat...a plus. I liked that the back wasn't as sharp as the ones I've gotten in the past. Made it easier to handle when carrying it to the office.

Decent floor mat if you have a lush carpet

This is the one to get if you have a high-pile thick carpet. Standing up great - you could rollerblade on it. Unfortunately the first mat delivered had a 3-inch tear in it at the corner. Not sure whether this is from delivery or from the original product as I was not present when it was delivered. It is quite heavy but holding up well to everyday use.
