This is the second computer chair mat I have ordered. It's the thickest I can buy without resorting to a metal plate. I have berber carpet with a medium pad underneath so it really isn't that thick. This mat provides good support for about 3 years but then it starts to break down. Cracks appear and about 3 months after that it becomes unusable. That's why I wish this mat was a bit thicker. But it certainly works well for those first 3 years.

Stays in place on carpet easy to move roller chair. Doesn't take up excessive space but large enough to move around for access to peripheral items at computer table.

It's hard to screw up an order for a chair mat so that was never an issue in my mind. The last mat I purchased from Staples lasted several years and I hope that this will last longer. As this mat is thicker that the prior I feel certain that the durability should be even greater The salesperson in the store was very helpful when assisting in this purchase. WE looked at the in-stock materials and internet items as well to assist in my making the best purchase. I would have liked to see a wider selection in the store however I still think I got the most for my money with this item.

This chair mat is way too flimsy to be of any value. It does not grip the carpet. Instead it creeps to the edge of the desk until it begins to buckle and form bumps. If you step on it near the edge the edge pops up and becomes a tripping hazard. Rolling on this chair mat is almost impossible because the rollers tend to sink into the flexible mat. I wish I had spent more money on a more rigid mat. This has been a very disappointing experience with a company with which I have always valued doing business.
