It says for medium-Pile carpet but its not nearly strong enough. Dents way to easy. It may work on low-pile but definitely not a medium pile grade.

The item description claimed the studs on the back would keep it in place on the carpet. Wrong. Every time I rolled the chair across it the mat shifted. When I sat in the chair for any significant length of time the chair wheels left dents in the plastic that made it difficult to roll - and I weight less than 140 pounds. This mat is very poor quality.

I ordered this online twice and should have sent it back again but didn’t want to deal with it. Both times in receiving the floor mat it was very dirty and scratched. When you pay $76 for a floor mat you should expect to receive it in good shape not like it was taken off the floor used and sent for my use. I’ve used Staples for years and this isn’t like them to send something in poor shape.

I guess my carpet is Med pile b/c this mat gets dented by my office chair wheels and it keeps on moving towards the right and 'bumping' into my desk and denting. I literally have to move it back twice a day. It might be perfect for a low pile carpet but I wanted to write this so if you're not sure if yours is low it probably isn't and you'll be disappointed with this mat.

I have what I was told os medium pile carpet.I have an office chair purchased at Staples a year or so ago. The mat slips and every few days I push it off yhe mat so I can move the mat back in place and not curling against my desk leg.and then placing this heavy chair back on the mat. I also have depressions on the mat from the casters. the mat shifts I suppose because of movement of the chair.
