We have a thick pile carpet and wanted to use a desk chair with rollers. Staples has a Large (46”x48”) clear vinyl support which works GREAT !!

Chair Mat

This chair mat is supposed to be for medium pile carpet and hard wood floors. It has smooth rows on the back side and does not stay put on carpet. It does get chair imprints just like any other chair mat but I would not buy this one again. I prefer a mat with the prickly knobs on the back to grab the carpet and stay put.

Not good on medium pile carpet

This mat would be great for a flat carpet or hard floor. It did not work on my medium pile carpet.

I followed the unpacking directions for this mat and let it sit for a weekend still rolled up in room temperature following the weekend I carefully unrolled the Mat to avoid cracking and placed a few large bins on each corner to aid in getting the mat to lay flat I left it for two days like that upon removing the bins the mat still has a bit of curve to one of the sides. I would rate it higher if it was completely flat after all of that effort to get it flat and it’s still not flat
