This chair mat is described as medium pile carpet and hard floor chair mat. It is too soft to use on carpet. The chair legs indent into the mat. It did not work for my need.

Disappointed. The mat tends to slide on the carpet. Also it is not sturdy enough. The wheels of our chair are creating indentations in the mat making it difficult to roll the chair around.

The mat is very thin allowing chair wheels to sink in easily. If you have any more than a VERY low pile carpet I'd suggest getting a much thicker mat.
