This works well to protect the carpet. I have an area rug and it is to thick and has padding. This would be great on a commercial grade carpet with low pile and no padding.

Light duty carpet protector

There was only one style on display when I was looking to replace an old one did not realize until after I took off the label and used it and went back to look for the torn off label that it was for low pile carpet. I use if over the old thicker carpet protector that cracked from use. I don't expect it to last long but did not feel right to bring it back after I had removed label and used it. It was fairly expensive thought it would be a replacement for the original. The original saves a lot of wear on the carpet but not happy with this purchase.
